Kendrick Mediation Services
Chrissy Kendrick works with families in transition, often going through separation or divorce. She specializes in providing a child-focused mediation process that reduces stress and cost for the family unit.
Chrissy is also a trained Hear the Child report writer. After interviewing a child or youth she can prepare a report to help the parties and/or the court better understand the child's viewpoints.
Chrissy believes that every family dispute is a unique story of pain and potential. Her approach is rooted in the principle that resolution is not a legal battle, but a collaborative journey towards mutual understanding and long-term peace.

Chrissy is a social worker with over twenty five years of experience, working in community mental health, police based victim services, domestic violence, acute health care settings, and crisis intervention. Most recently she is employed at a non profit society working with children’s lawyers supporting their high conflict files.
Chrissy obtained her Bachelors and Masters degrees in social work at the University of British Columbia (UBC). She also has a Bachelors of History degree from UBC and her Bachelors of Law from the University of Law, London, UK.
Chrissy is an accredited family law mediator, having done training through Continuing Legal Education of British Columbia.

Common Questions
What is family law mediation?
Family law mediation is a confidential, professional process where a neutral third party, a mediator, facilitates communication between parties to reach a mutually agreeable resolution without the need for court intervention.
How does communication facilitation work?
Chrissy focuses on active listening and emotional intelligence to help parties express their needs and concerns in a safe, respectful environment, paving the way for constructive dialogue and resolution.
Are the sessions confidential?
Yes, all sessions are strictly confidential. This means that anything discussed during the mediation process remains private and cannot be used as evidence in any legal proceedings.
What are the benefits of mediation?
Mediation offers a less adversarial approach to conflict resolution. It can save time and money compared to litigation, while preserving relationships and allowing for more flexible, tailored outcomes.
How long do sessions last?
Most sessions are scheduled for 90 minutes, but can last to up to four hours if needed. Families may want to have only one session, while others prefer several. The duration can vary depending on the complexity of the dispute and the specific goals of the parties involved.
Do I need a lawyer?
That is entirely up to you. Many mediation clients have lawyers and many others do not. Some clients want the support of a lawyer and their attorney can participate by attending mediation with them or being available via phone. I always recommend that clients seek independent legal advice on any agreement made in mediation.
How much does mediation cost?
The general hourly rate is 220. 00 dollars per hour. Legal aide clients are welcome.
